About the Author

JAMES PATTERSON is one of the best-known and biggest-selling writers of all time. He is the author of the bestselling series for young readers, Witch & Wizard (nominated for the 2011 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards), Maximum Ride, Daniel X and Middle School. This is as well as writing three of the top detective series around – the Alex Cross, Women’s Murder Club and Michael Bennett novels – and many other number one bestsellers including romance novels and stand-alone thrillers. He lives in Florida with his wife and son.

James was inspired by his son, who was a reluctant reader, to write books specifically for young readers. He is a founding partner of Booktrust's Children's Reading Fund in the UK. In 2010, James Patterson was voted Author of the Year at the Children’s Choice Book Awards in New York.

Oh dear everything that's holy, my heart hurts. It freaking hurts.

Ugh, I don't know where to start.

The Private School Murders kicks off three months after Confessions of A Murder Suspect, Matthew's still in jail pending trial on a charge, the mystery of James Rampling is fracturing, and we get to know him and oh my fictional guy. This is the part where I could gush and fangirl, but you know what? James Rampling deserves more, so I'm saying I wish this guy was real. So damn real. Anyway, back to topic, where was I? Right...The Angels are still staying in the Dakota, and though their parents are dead, they're still worming their way into their lives, like the worms were probably worming their way into them. Too morbid? Well, let's add a little more. Female private school girls are turning up dead, executioner style, and once it starts hitting someone Tandy knows she puts it upon herself to find the killer. Weird things are going on, in their building deadly reptiles, arachnids are crawling out of the woodwork and their new appointed guardian and ex-military Jacob are treating them like family, and even hugs them. For once the Angels' have a schedule, rules and a somewhat stabilised life with someone looking out for them instead of themselves.

You're in for a rollercoaster ride, dear friend.

There's a lot going on in The Private School Murders, three on-going investigations, the forgotten memories of true love, and ladies and gentleman, the real Tandy Angel has arrived.

And she takes no prisoners.

This was. So. Good. So. Freaking. Good.

As with any James Patterson novel you get sucked in straight away with his novels and this one did exactly that! Even if you haven't read the first one in the series it is very easy to get into and into the world of the Angel family. At the centre of the family is 16 year-old Tandy who has been put through the ringer (to understand more you should read the first one!) However she is strong likeable character with a knack for seeing things that others wouldn't. As always James Patterson weaves a good story along with the help of Maxine, who has collaborated with him on many occasions! I would defy anyone not to like or read his books, only problem is I tend to get through then far too quickly due to finding out who done it!

Relatively slow to get into the complex plot but once you knew what to expect James Patterson delivered his usual compulsive read. Brilliant.

I have to admit to being a James Patterson fan and there are barely any books of his I would recommend. This is number two of the Private School Murders and yet again you feel for the Angle family, want to fight for them and are so glad Jacob, who you find out who he is later in the book is there for them and its a happy ending.
A real page turner and I thoroughly enjoyed it, as I did the first book.

Dissapointing this book. James Patterson normally writes much better than this. Very unbelievable that a 16 year old girl an solve a triple.murder, save her brother from prison by solving his girlfriends murder and solve the mystery of snakes and spiders in the apartment building they live in. All this while the police are sitting on their thumbs, I think not!

Found this while browsing as a great fan of James Patterson, but really disappointed and not up to his usual standard. I felt it was a little boring and far fetched and to be perfectly honest it is the first time I struggled to finish it which is saying something, as I find his books really good and holds the readers attention but I'm afraid not this time

Although I had forgotten some of the details of the first book it was easy to pick up the story. Great characters as one would expect from Mr Patterson. Of course a great plot. Written in a adolescent language sometimes, but easily identifiable to adults. It would appear that there is more to the Dakota than it first appears.

Different to the other James Patterson books I've read. Wasn't gripped from the beginning of the book as I normally am but it grew on me the further along I read. Not my favourite book of his as the story line is not as realistic as the Alex Cross, Micky Haller and Women's Murder Club books. That said, I did enjoy the read.
