When confessions... was released in late 2005, it was fair to say that it would not be long until a remix album followed. And here it is. While it was only released on a triple vinyl album, it is still a remix collection non-the-less. With confessions... being heavily based on the demands of the dancefloor, Madonna enlisted the production skill of stuart price, who remixed the entrie package under tha various guises he has used for various projects (most notably jacques lu cont, which has won several grammy's based on remixes for no doubt and gwen stafani). 'hung up' being the leading single from the album and a highlight from Madonna's recent catalogue, it appears here in both vocal and dub forms, whilst sonically enhanced enough to be called a remix, it still maintains many of the qualities which made the album version so enjoyable. 'sorry' and 'i love new york' are toughened up for the dancefloor, but still resemble their original versions, with a heavy nod to 80's electronica. The greatest transformations lie with 'get together' (which is only has the vocal intact from the original) and 'let it will be', so heavily remixed it is bearly recognisable. The latter was liked so much by Madonna, that it later became the version she preffered to perform live (see the confessions tour) and was also re-edited with additional vocals so that it would appear as the b-side to 'sorry'. This collection proves that Madonna and Price together really knew what they wanted, and how to make it happen. This is not a collection of remixes for those who did not like confessions... in its original form, but it serves as an addition to the album, complimenting its sound and production values, whilst giving club dj's something slightly different to play with. A collectors item, a dj's must have, and a general all round winner if you love the sound Madonna championed during her confessions period!!!
