5.0 out of 5 stars From Experience........... 9 Jan 2013

This well written book is a lively read that reflects my experiences of working with the general public. It is so real it reads like fantasy! The reader will enjoy the romp through life as a waiter on a daily basis. The observations of the general public at large are very real. If you recognise yourself I am sure its not intentional, well almost sure!

Its written in an easy to read style, just a bit too short. I have the Kindle version and it made me smile in the dentist waiting room!!! Its the first thing I have read from this author and I look forward to the next venture.

4.0 out of 5 stars Drops you right into the life! 24 May 2012

Downloaded confessions of a pizza waiter as soon as I saw the small town element, as it seemed like the spin on "day in the life" that is missing from so many experience based books (and TV shows) that have the sensationalised life of a big city newcomer or something similar. This definitely meets you halfway! The pizzeria may be small town, but the goings on are often hilarious, and sometimes insightful. Only a couple of entries in and I was already very impressed - it has a very realistic edge despite being what I am assuming is actually fiction, and the diary format is half conversational and half anecdotal, which makes for a more immersive and compelling read.

The main character (or the author perhaps) often seems to lament their choice in job, but goes at it hammer and tongs most of the time anyway, which is much more enjoyable than a protagonist who just complains about their life all the time and iS against the world (or believes it is against them)

    4.0 out of 5 stars a social comment........ 2 Dec 2011
A brief but amusing portrait of modern society from an employee working at a branch of an international pizza chain in a market town in the south west of England. Whilst the title may be deemed a little misleading, perhaps 'observations of.....' would be more apt, this is a humourous account of a waiters run ins with the changing faces of society. From youth culture to pensioners nobody is excluded and a very funny, and sometimes odd, cross section of the populace is observed and commented on. Well worth a read with, maybe, the best part saved until the final paragraph. In closing, funny astute and perhaps most worrying of all, an honest view of the country we've come to live in.......

Glad I didn't pay much for this ! Dull, sounded like a grumpy 20 something moaning about his work. Would certainly not reccommend it. Didn't take long to read but the time spent doing so was wasted ! First time I've ever rated something one star !
