I wasn't sure what to expect but this is a very entertaining book. The biggest surprise is how different the US game is from the UK game. It seems that in the US mulligans (free shots) are almost expected in a non comp round (and the author thought another player was the unreasonable one when he didn't give her a mulligan!!) and it being ok for a ball's lie to be improved out of the rough. My experience is that here in the UK a round is the same rules wise whether 'just' a round or a comp unless someone is a new player or you are just having a few holes. Very bizarre!!

A fun read for golfers and non-golfers 10 Dec. 2013
By cori brett - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Chasing the little white ball through romance and heartbreak, struggles and triumph, made for a fun read that I couldn't put down. A celebrated sports journalist who walks the talk, Susan tells her story with candor and humor. I loved it and other women golfers will too. Non-golfers will marvel that a book about golf could be so engaging.

Should be a major motion picture! 12 Dec. 2013

I am neither a golfer nor a SL&T and I found this thoroughly entertaining (and funny and sad and inspiring). I would love to read more about this author's life as her background seems pretty fascinating (femaile sportswriter covering baseball....don't think there are too many of those around.) This is a fast and fun read for a snow day (or beach day if you are so lucky) or plane ride or afternoon in bed. I am sure golfers, male and female, will enjoy her discovery of their sport. I enjoyed her honesty and sincerity in talking about her relationships - good and bad - dating, marriage, the triumph of spirit and humor over dishonesty (that is YOU Red Tee Man, you know who you are!), death and disappointment. She is like one of those rom-com heroines you root for from beginning to end. Some smart producer will snap this up (the title alone is a draw, I think) and turn this into a fun and funny movie starring Emma Stone.
Loved this book! 28 Feb. 2014

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this book. It made me happy, sad, excited, jealous and inspired depending on what page I was on as I burned the midnight oil devouring it – couldn't put it down. As much as I normally hate emotional roller coasters, this book made me want to pay to get on the ride again.

I want to applaud Susan for “opening the kimono”. That can be a risky thing to do, but her honesty and transparency just makes you want to be her friend and share her journey through life's ups and downs.

Although any woman would enjoy this book, for women golfers, it's a "must read"

A nice follow-up to Lady in the Locker Room 27 Nov. 2013

Format: Paperback
This is a wonderful memoir from a woman who has covered many sporting events as a journalist. Here, she writes about her life and how golf has played a part in it. Meeting men on the golf course may be safer than online, but a "golf slut" plays with anybody, anywhere and anytime, so the discriminating part has to come later. And it does. Plenty of men who can keep up tee to green fall short on character. In this book she tells how she got taken in a few times and she tells it in a way that will make most women say, "Yep, me too." A great read for all women, especially those who enjoy golf.
A wonderful memoir written with humor and honesty. 23 Feb. 2014

In meeting Susan Fornoff through this memoir, I discovered she’s gutsy, gregarious, sincere—someone you’d want to know, play golf with, and read whatever she writes.

Confessions of a Golf Slut is heart-warming, well-written, full of golf anecdotes, and an incredible saga of online dating. Bonus: she offers a golf tip on improving your chances for a hole in one from a man who has sunk over 15 of the gems. Susan epitomizes the term, golf slut, based on her LOVE for the game, her willingness to play any course, anywhere, in any kind of weather. She’ll join a threesome or bring her own. Susan’s zest for life comes through in every chapter. This memoir often reads like a travelogue. I related to her visits to Charleston, Pinehurst, Monticello, the Phillips Collection, and seeing Wicked in NYC.

Men and women, golfers and non-golfers will appreciate Susan’s ability to bounce back from adversity whether it was from divorce, dating challenges, work problems, or those pesky double bogeys.
