Laughter is the best medicine,

May not be a 100% cure for manic depression but it certainly lifts you out of those everyday blues as you get involved in the crazy capers that take place in the small Irish backwater of Kilcoddy. Had me laughing out loud on several occasions, I thought it was fantastic.

Is a while since I laughed aloud as much while reading if ever but this little book had me in stitches at times. Yes it lacks a little polish in parts and it is a bit earthy with its politically incorrect references to homosexuality but this is the Year 2000 and we need humour that pokes fun at the things that have been classed as taboo. I was soon totally hooked and glad to be carried along for the ride. Fantastic comic characters, comedic writing at its best.

An outstanding tale of mayhem.,

Anyone familiar with the works of Tom Sharpe will adore this. It is an exceptional comic tale which brings the genre into the modern world. Everything is game for the author's caustic treatment - Irish paramilitary organisations, the church, self abuse etc. It had me in stitches. If you want to cheer yourself up then this is the book for you. It is quite easy to read and before you know it you will be half way through with tears rolling down your cheeks. It really is that good.
