I should probably start by saying I love The Temper Trap with a passion and when I heard this album was coming out I whacked it on pre-order quicker than you can say `Temper Trap rock my socks off'! Saying that my expectations and my love of the first album may have been so high that I was left feeling a little flat by this remixed affair. The bands music is pretty upbeat and distinctive and it would take a special remix to add something worthwhile to their music and only a few here manage to carry it off. The Rolo and Sister remix of `Love Lost' is one that stands out and the remix of `Resurrection' is probably my favourite. I also enjoy the remix of `Drum Song' where lyrics have been added to the bands original instrumental track. It is briefly worth noting that the packaging is atrocious! It is a piece of folded card (not even a digi-pak) and it has one of those hideous foam CD centre holders rather than a plastic grip. There is being eco-friendly and then there is just plain annoying! That aside, this album is worth a listen if you are a huge fan and there are some great tracks on offer here, but it will never stand up to the original album (which is very strong in it's own right) and works more as a quirky add on. This is the kind of the thing you'd find packaged with the album in future re-releases.
