A very pleasant read with plenty of facts and insight into Concorde, not for the hardcore aviation aficionado. Ideally suited for someone who has an interest in the only ever supersonic passenger aircraft.

I bought this book because another Concorde book was a bit of a disappointment.

This is a good size book, good enough for your "coffee table" talking point for visitors type book. Great pictures, great facts, good value for a book this size.

What I would really like to see is a book dedicated to Concorde that is twice this size, with large, fantastic, sharp, creative photographs, and plenty of facts and figures, a real glossy tribute to the most loved of all aircraft. A great boxed set would be wonderful. Somebody provide it!

Concorde history told in pictures: the title really says it all! This one is a MUST for any Concorde fan, along Orlebar's book. TONS of pictures, many of them new to me, and 90% of them in HIGH QUALITY, even some old ones from the 60s and 70s look very nice, not washed out. The author has clearly given attention to the photos so they could look awesome.

Very nice photos with closeups and different situations, like the cabin without seats and carpet, Concorde without paint, the 1st protoype 1968 roll-out and some others.

This book is mandatory to any Concorde fan, and a very nice gift to any aviation fan not so interested in the politics behind Concorde birth and life.

For a nice picture and history text, I recommend Concorde, and for a more in-depth story and operational details, the other mandatory book by Christopher Orlebar: The Concorde Story: 21 Years in Service (Civil aircraft).

I got this book as a birthday gift. It is now one of my favourite hard backs! There is a huge array of photos of mainly British Airways Concordes and prototype aircraft. These photo's accompany the story of Concorde from the early days right through the aircraft's life until the end when it was retired (retired far too early in my view!). I found this book an excellent reference guide while modelling an Airfix version of the jet, as some of the photos are close up, detailed views of specific parts of the plane and it was a great help to me when trying to get the details of my model accurate.
If you're into Concorde or just want to learn a bit more about this beautiful iconic British/French aircraft then I would recommend you give this book serious consideration.

There are many images in this book used by many other authors in their publications on various aspects of the BAC/Aerospatiale Concorde supersonic airliner. The subtitle of this book explains precisely what the book does - it gives a potted history of the world's most famous airliner - in pictures. Jomathan Falconer is very well known among the Concorde fraternity and here he reproduces some of the best images of this 20th century icon. A must have for any aircraft enthusiast.
