Book Description

1 July 2010 1844258181 978-1844258185
Written by two of British Airways' most experienced Concorde flight crew, the "Concorde Manual" is the latest aircraft manual from Haynes, following on from the acclaim received by the "Spitfire Manual". Concentrating on the technical and engineering aspects of Concorde, this manual gives rare insights into owning, operating, servicing and flying the supersonic airliner. Although the British and French Concorde fleets were prematurely retired in 2003, interest in this marvel of design and technology remains undiminished and all who admire Concorde will relish the unique information provided in this innovative title.

5.0 out of 5 stars A different approach 22 Aug 2010
Format:Hardcover
This book is great.

It has many interesting photos not present in The Concorde Story: 21 Years in Service (Civil aircraft) neither on the internet!
Technical details in incredible quantity, explaining why G-BOAG had a different battery system from the other BA Concordes, for example.

Highly recommended for Concorde hardcore fans and also for those people curious on the whys of machines, planes, cars, etc.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating Plane, Fascinating Read 4 April 2011
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
The Haynes Owners' Worskhop manuals are always a good read, and this is one too: a very iconic aircraft and nice to learn more about it. It does tend to see most things from the British perspective though, as Air France were a major operator and their experiences could have added ice to the cake

4.0 out of 5 stars Stan 31 Oct 2010
Format:Hardcover
The Manual gives an accurate insight into the operation of the most important systems on this wonderful aircraft, without being too difficult to understand for anyone who has never worked on an aircraft, it also leaves the reader in no doubt as to what a great technical achievement Concorde was for the aircraft manufacturers of the United Kingdom and France
