This album 'Conclusion Of An Age' is the debut from Sylosis, already having two EPs on offer. This album made a jump for Sylosis from Hardcore Death Metal to Thrash Metal, so if you are expecting the same from the last effort, especially (The Supreme Oppressor) you will be dissapointed, gone with the breakdowns and low chugging and down tuning, this album is now in standard tuning so expect a less brutal album in that respect.

The album is everything 'Modern Thrash' should be if you like insane solos, intricate riffs and a sonically very big and deep album, you will love this. The thing I don't like with the album is the use of samples and synths, yeah it makes the album sound bigger but they don't do some if it live.

Tracks to check out before you buy the album if your not sure about it are:-

2. After Lifeless Years
5. Reflections Through Fire
6. Conclusion Of An Age
8. Teras

If you like bands such as Slayer, Unearth, Pantera, Machine Head. With this album Sylosis have taken the best elements from these bands and made it their own. This is a very solid album, the reason I havn't given it 5 stars is because I hope they haven't peaked too early. High anticipation of next album, again if you love Thrash metal you will love this record.

I came across this band when i was looking for some new music to listen to on this website and after reading some of the reviews that had already been posted i followed their advice and listened to some of the recommended tracks. From the beginning of "Oath of Silence" i was hooked on this band, they have very skilled guitarists that are able to blend heavy riffs with beautiful solos and fills and the tracks are skilfully put together. The vocals have a nice range of lows and highs although there aren't any clean sections however to most metal fans including myself this is not a problem. There is a good mix of tracks and not previously being a fan of their older work, i much prefer this album although their other two productions have their merits.

The tracks i would recommend from this album are:

Oath of Silence
Blackened Skyline
Conclusion of an Age
After Lifeless Years
Swallow the World

I'm very much looking forward to their newest album due for release next year.

From the start to the end of the album, Sylosis don't let up, each song blasts through the speakers with fine production. This is an album that grows on you and may take repeated listenings to fully appreciate. Highlights include 'Teras', 'After Lifeless Years' and 'Transcendance'. The album is much more melodic than contempories Evile, but that doesn't make it any less brutal and actually benefits the sound of the album.
