Product Description

Product Description

The lake lies by a quaint little town, shrouded by pleasant forest. Also, when it thaws every spring, corpses are found under the ice. It’s probably best not to think about it. Why trouble yourself? All small towns have these little peculiarities. There's nothing ominous about it.

But the new detective in town won't let matters lie. In a shocking display of cultural insensitivity, she sets out alone* to solve the mystery of the lake – but there's no telling where her investigation will lead, or what's waiting for her in the depths below.

*Well, with help from the local crackpot. No one else is crazy enough.

4.0 out of 5 stars SHORT BUT MEMORABLE 4 April 2013

Although this short story was over far too soon, I loved the scenario of a lake with something nasty lurking in its depths (Think Loch Ness with a twist!). This was a well written piece and painted a perfect picture of a place that has cropped up any number of times in US movies or Stephen Kingesque novels.
Definitely worth a read if you like the above or similar.
