I may be prejudiced as my son was a French Horn Player with the Royal Marines Band Service for 14 years, and, indeed, was an instructor at the Royal Marines School of Music for a while. They NEVER turn out a disc (or, indeed, a performance) that`s anything less than excellent, and this is no exception.

There are quite a few familiar pieces on this CD and I didn't find the selection particularly inspiring. However, this CD is available very cheaply and thus represents very good value. If you are not familiar with the Royal Marine Band then you will probably enjoy this more. For those who have an interest in military band music, a wider variety and a few more unusual pieces would have made this CD more interesting.

Brilliant music by 1 of the best military band in the world. Brought back many memories of my childhood in Deal Kent, which then was the home of the Royal Marines School of Music.
A very selection of titles of the many marches they play so well.
Highly recommended to any loves of military marches.

Comrades Royal Marines Band
I was a bit disapointed in that it was all marches but that being said it is a typical Royal Marine Band sound and one I was going to use for a local Internet programme. Read more
