2.0 out of 5 stars Below usual standard 2 Mar 2012

I like the C. Muffin series, but this book does not live up to the usual standard where there is very little violence and a lot of outsmarting each other.

In this book there is more violence than usual, torture even which I personally find unnecessary and somewhat tasteless.

Also, the description of Charlie's smarts seems postulated as if the author has tired with it and believes that since reader already knows how smart Charlie is, he doesn't need to come up with story lines that support it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a Bad Story 7 April 2002
By John G. Hilliard - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
A good one from the old cold war days of spy thrillers. The author does a solid job with his writing and does keep the story moving. I have noticed that the more books he puts out the less is getting edited away, and my opinion is that is close to including too much that will slow the stories down. I would suggest The Blind Run from this author as one of his better works. There are the prerequisites multiple plots and trouble main character you find in most books of this type. All in all not a bad effort.
