2.0 out of 5 stars a little bland.. 9 May 2012

I found it a little bland, and not detailed enough to work with VCD.
Unfortunatlely a lot of Vmware related books fall into the same category.
I wouldn't recommend buying it, as it doesn't justify the price.
It's not sufficently detailed for my work environment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent overview of cloud computing!! 31 Dec 2011
By E. G. DeMattia - Published on Amazon.com
I didn't buy the Kindel version because I wanted to have the color illustrations, so I purchased from the publisher directly.

This is an excellent book for anyone in about to, or thinking about deploying a VMware cloud. If you're like me, and work with management that just doesn't see the benefits of cloud, the examples in the book will arm you with everything you need to win them to your way of thinking. The book also helped me identify mistakes I've been making during our transition from a physical infrastructure to a virtual infrastructure. Not so much technical mistakes but rather the thought process of the administrators involved in the migration.

This book is not so much a "How To" manual with step by step instructions. It's a guide to help you wrap your head around the power of cloud and methods to deploy the technology while demonstrating the cost savings and increased utilization of existing capital investments.

Another great e-book at a reasonable price and a must read before you start your VMware vCloud Director deployment. I have learned a lot from this and will adapt some of my infrastructure based on this book.
