The BEST VB book I've ever read,
By
This review is from: Computing Projects in Visual Basic (A Level Computing) (Paperback)
I have tried to get into Visual Basic a few times, and my interest has always waned after a few weeks. I have 5 other VB books, all of which are hard to follow..... and then I bought this book. It's just FANTASTIC for the beginner, and the examples are so easy to follow and more importantly fun to do. After the first 4 chapters I had learned more with this book than the other 5 put together. After each chapter there are a few excercises to do, which also help the learning curve by making you think, instead of the usual mindless copying of code from disks or out of the book. The chapters are split well into sections, and the coding is specific and simple (i.e. the author has not tried to make you run before you can walk) In fact..... I think this book deserves 6 stars. Well done Derek Christopher!!

An excellent book for any Visual Basic student.,

As a second year HND student part of the course requirements are that the students' must produce a project of their choice. As a driving instructor I decided to produce a driving theory package using Visual Basic. Whilst looking for books about VB I stumbled across this one and how pleased I am that I did. It is concise no frills, tells it as it is. It even covers subjects like random access files, which aren't covered any other text that I've come across. if you want to learn Visual Basic, buy this book. It's a must.

i bought this book because my college use it during lessons and i couldnt be bothered to keep taking it out from the library!! But now that i've got it, it's been a godsend for my course. it helps those who are vb-challenged and those who are advanced through all the forms, pseudocode and applications tht are going to be vital to any project.well worth every penny
