The book is truly one of its kind. It seemed to me more like a computer encyclopedia. Most of t he topics that a computer novices could ask for has been answered in this book. The book I must say is well designed for new comers to the computer world. But it also does answer questions that everyone needs to ask time to time. A handy book to keep in your collection. And well worth the money.

Aimed at the beginning user. 22 Nov 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Not a bad book for the beginning computer user. Goes into many aspects of the computer: hardware, software, databases, WWW, programming, etc. Most of the examples are related to the United States and in Basic. Not a bad book if you're taking a beginning computer course in school, but anything after that, there are definately way better books to be had.

Great for people who never understood the information age 14 Feb 2000
By Jason McGehee - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
People who want to learn the big picture of the information age without digging to deep with technical details will enjoy this book. The book describes basic concepts of computers and their role in the information age. Plenty of good illustrations and the text is easy to read. Used for intro to computer science classes. However, 3 starts comes from the price vs value of content. Books that are required by schools tend to cost more.
