I purchased this monitor stand because I only wanted a slight increase in height of about an inch or two for my second monitor, to match the height of the other one.
I measured the heights available with this stand as 36mm, 69mm and 103mm, ignoring the thickness of the stick-on rubber foot pads.
The stand looks solid enough, but I was surprised to see how weak its top is. While assembling it, I accidentally pressed a little hard, and the top cracked, splitting along half its length. If you look at the image of it, you can see that the top is not particularly thick. On the box it came in, the stand is shown supporting a CRT monitor with a square base of the same width as the stand, so that the weight is taken by the sides of the stand rather than its top.
For safety, I have turned the stand round so that the weight of my 24 inch monitor (only about 8kg) is supported by the rear edge of the stand, which is much deeper. I couldn't have used the front opening anyway, as I need the stand to be at its lowest height.
