Reviews

In Autumn 2003, Blue Man Group visited 38 US cities with their Complex Rock Tour. Their performances feature three bald and blue characters and a multi-sensory experience that combines theatre, percussive music, art and science into an original form of entertainment. The Complex Rock Tour includes guest performances from Dave Matthews and also from Gavin Rossdale of Bush.

Take the PC adverts and stretch the imagination. What you get is certainly delivered in this DVD - a fantastic and marvellous performance by these men in Blue. The concept is simple and hits you as pure genius. The music is powerful, rhythmic and captivating. Guest singers such as Tracy Bonham and Annette Strean contribute to a mind blowing show. If you want to learn how to play the piano in a unique way then watch these guys! The mix of rock and percussion is awe inspiring. At the other end of musical emotion, their tribute to those in 9/11 is a testament of the skills of this group. My pick of the show? Well, the tracks comprising "Above", "Up to the Roof", "I Feel Love" (ex Donna Summer), Baba O'Reilly (ex The Who), and "What is Rock" make me shiver! Go Get and Enjoy. You really don't know what you're missing. Honest.

I just happened to see a poster of them outside a theatre i was walking past in Toronto last year (2005)saying that they were performing live there that night and i promptly bought a ticket there and then. I had only seen quick clips of them on TV commercials so i thought it would be interesting to see what they were all about and i was not disappointed.
The choreography was well timed, the music was gripping and the whole show was entertaining. The only difference to the live show i saw as opposed to this DVD was that the musicians were playing their instruments behind glass partitians in their illuminous skeleton outfits which added more ambiance to the show. You could even have photos and a chat with them as you were leaving the theatre which i thought was the icing on the cake.
I recommend this DVD, but recommend you see them live even more to get the whole effect and atmosphere, only then can you describe to your friends and family what it was like.

I was fortunate to see the Blue Man Group and their in-your-face performance at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas where I stayed for my 50th Birthday in November 2008. They had no available UK format DVDs in their store there, disappointing, so you can't imagine my delight when I received this DVD & found that it was just as inviting to drag in an audience and keep them captivated, entertained and wholly engaged throughout. Played at the appropriate volume, neighbours out, the resulting cacophone can rip apart any living room & the hypnotic lighting effects exploding from the 50" flat screen make for a dramatic private party. Totally uplifting, massively powerful entertainment passing energy from the performers directly into your brainwaves. Tune in & enjoy, totally recommended, nothing lost here on the live performance, a wow factor DVD.

Blue Man Group are not like any other group.
They don't sing or even talk, they just play percussion "Instruments" (Questionable)
We saw them live at the Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas last June and we came away from the show on a high !
Looking forward to last years concert on DVD.
Awesome and Brilliant.
Play it LOUD !!

Having just had the pleasure of seeing Blue Man Group live at the Luxor in Las Vegas this was a must get DVD. The DVD shows an earlier rock-concert tour performed by the highly original Blue Man Group who will be more familiar to UK audiences from their on screen persona advertising Intel Pentium processors some years ago.
The DVD is a great insight into the Blue Man world and offers a glimpse of the theatre style shows which are playing across the USA and Berlin. Do not however expect to see a Blue Man theatre show, this is definitely a stand alone tour performance which offers some of the best of Blue Man music and showcases all of the more popular "instruments" The Drumbone & Backpack Tubulum being some of the best.
If you've never heard of Blue Man Group then this is definitely something a little different - If you've ever had the chance to see Blue Man live you will know how good they really are, if not and you like watching something a little more progressive treat yourself to this DVD you won't be disappointed!
Rock concert movement No: 3 - Ready? GO!

I bought this DVD after seeing the Blue Man Group live in Vagas this year and wanted to be able to describe them to friends. It is truely an act of brilliance and if anyone gets the chance to see them then do. They are different but appeal to all age groups and the music is excellent.
The act of the three blue men is both comical and very entertaining - when will they come to England?
Look forward to seeing their DVD of show in Vagas
