From the Author

This book took two years to write. The intent was to cover completion design as comprehensively as possible and be up-to-date. The approach is a mixture of theoretical knowledge where relevant and hands-on application gained through experience in an oil company and consultancy. The book should appeal to reservoir engineers, drilling engineers and petroleum engineers. The scope of completions covered in the book is broad - reservoir inflow performance for example is covered in detail as is materials. There is an extensive (over 1500) reference list and over 300 colour photographs and drawings.

This is probably one of the best if not the best book about completion design that shows real tools, examples, situations.
It is written in a simple language without losing its technical character, it contains excellent quality (colour)graphics like charts and pictures; it also gives a good explanation of where the completion engineer is located within any oil producing company and the importance of it embedded on a large organization.
