Contrary to the previous reviewer's comments, there is a table of contents. It can't, however, be accessed from the Kindle menu. Instead, go to the cover and page forward et voila there it is.

The table of contents issue is easily resolved by paging left until it is found and then placing a bookmark on it. I do this with all my books with that have an active table of contents, which makes it dead easy to pop back to the table of contents whenever I want to. It is especially useful with reference books and only takes a few seconds to do. As the bookmarks appear according to their page in the book, the chances are that this will always be the first bookmark in the list of bookmarks for that book.

The contents page is definitely there, but it's slightly fiddly to get to. On first opening the book you see the title page for 'American Notes for General Circulation', which is not actually the very first page of the collection. Press the left arrow on the 5-way controller and you'll skip back to the title page for the whole collection. Turning the page here reveals the table of contents, which allows you to access the individual volumes.

At less than £2.00 how can anyone not want this book. As someone who is relatively new to reading Dickens, I was amazed at how lyrical his style is and how easy to read. Read more

Good stand-by
I downloaded this because I have only read about six Dickens' novels, and the Kindle is the ideal place to have one handy.
