Actually, I'll avoid much in the way of comment regarding Nott's account of the symphanies. Of course they'd be the primary reason you'd want to consider this set. They are, minimally, more than proficient - actually, a great deal more. And all the repeats are played. There's ample critique of the performances available via any search engine, and the consensus is that these are fine performances. A few people note the possibly limited expressive range, but immediately acknowledge this has a lot to do with Nott's strict adherence to the horizontal, instead of the frankly lazy vertical accounts that are always possible with Schubert.
Anyway, what I want to draw to your attention are the two 'bonus' discs included in this set. Sadly they're only CD format, but nonetheless for someone like me - someone basically capable of 'feeling' characteristics of Schubert's technique, but evidently incapable of articulating these - well, these discs are absolutely essential listening.
With these discs suddenly Schubert is radicalized, illuminated - proto-Mahler. Amazing stuff.
