4.0 out of 5 stars Making sweets 21 Aug 2013
By Dmajam
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Contents are as the title. I find it has many recipes which I would not be making. Fine if you like some bizare flavours etc.
However, it is well illustrated and as stated, step by step instructions, good for novices. I would recommend the book for the ambitious, but, not worth buying if you only want to make the basic things for the children, like truffles, coconut ice and nut brittle.

Best uk book I've come across to date lots of detailed description and techniques with supporting images. Would really benefit from a stockists list as sourcing some items is difficult.

This is the second of these I've bought. I use mine around Christmas to make gifts and treats for the family.
Bought this time as a birthday gift for a friend.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute book but 15 July 2013
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Cute book but alot of recipes are very similar to one another, would have been nice for better variety of recipes.

Some recipes appear a bit old fashioned.
However techniques were described very clearly.

Okay book, would have been better with more variety.
