I have followed The Shadows ever since I was given my first Dansett record player together with their single 'Wonderful Land'. I quickly acquainted myself of their recordings I had missed, and when their first LP 'The Shadows' hit the record stores I snapped it up. This is the ultimate collection for all Shadows fans, all their EMI singles, all original recordings no stereo re-recordings. All the A sides together with their B sides. Yes the real sound of the Shadows, in their various line ups, from Hank, Bruce, Tony, Jet, Bruce, Brian Liquorice Locking , Brain Bennett, the late John Rostill and John Farrar.
Yes the original recording of the hits not re-recordings, somehow the stereo re-recordings, which followed on the Polydor Label, are just not the same, the freshness and original sound of the tracks are missing - nothing beats the originals. This collection is miles better than the CD album 'Life Story' released to coincide with 'Their Final Tour!'
This 4 CD collection is a must for all ardent Shadow fans and is a very comprehensive, anthology of their singles during those great EMI Years.

Whoever thought of this album deserves a big medal. Lots of well-known favourites, and lots of tracks on albums I haven't had the chance to acquire yet. A "total history" of Shadows music. Well worth the money.
