I bought this book 1 month ago, and have been following it very specifically, with two goals in mind.
1. Weight Loss
2. Increase overall levels of fitness for long distance cycling.
The book isn't just about "here is what you do in the gym", its much more lifestyle encompassing than that. It talks about body types, metabolism, about the modern diet, and how you can eat healthy with just some minor changes.
There are sections on different types of training for different aims, and the exercises are not just focused on the gym, there is plenty you can do at home.
More important then all that, he tells the truth about motivation, how to get over the small goals, and about the fad of "get thin" quick fads that the modern media bombard us with.
Simple, honest, clear, and incredibly detailed instruction for a wealth of different training types. Also has a great array of pictures (only down side in this is that they tend to be very trim, perfect types that may be a bit off putting, but then again, its something to aim for too!)
I have been lucky enough to have shifted 1st safely in a month, increased core strength and an my cycling performance/endurance has increased beyond my wildest hopes.
Get it, follow it, and live longer and happier - I will be!
