I got the book, read it and then went and had some dental implants at the recommended Prisma Dental in Costa Rica. Bad decision. Emailed they said US 5000. I fly there. They really fight putting anything in writing. I insist, they tell me US 8,500. I say nope, don't have the money for that. What can we drop? General anesthetic dropped. Now US 6,500. I'm not thrilled but I go ahead. They appear confident but drop things down my throat four times. I come back the next day and they demand an additional 1,600. I'm locked in an office. They refuse to accept their error and demand that I pay for their mistake! It's three hours and they have not looked at my teeth. And they haven't told me about the two cavaties I have and keep asking them to fix.
Now back in the US, the swelling is down but one membrane is poking through my gum - failure. The dentist is refusing to tell me the bone used or the size of the implants. So, not only am I out the money, I'm going to have to pay to have things taken out, and out for the plane and hotel.
I regret ever reading this book and where it led me.
If you have to do this, try using people recommended by embassies. Turns out Prisma is not recommended. Nor is the book. It's needed but a website would be best so that lousy referrals can be commented on and taken out.
