I decided to this particular course as there didn't seem to be many alternatives & wanted to find out more about the localized differences in Latin American Spanish, whilst learning the basics. I also bought it based on price & description (I'd seen the same course in a high street bookstore for nearly 3x the price!) so was happy with the pack when it arrived.
The chapters & lessons are clearly set out & it seems a well written course book so far with varied excercises to go with the Audio & there are plenty of extra informational weblinks throughout the book! The accompanying CDs are great & feature native Mexican Spanish speaking people but are NOT as described either on the Pack contents itself or on Amazon! The Book is said to be 320 pages on Amazon's description, 384 on the Pack contents but in reality is 356 pages long.... The CDs are said to be 2x 70 Minute CDs but are in fact approx 44 minutes each! I'm not sure if this helps but thought it was worth mentioning; it seems to have got lost in translation oddly enough!
All in all still good value for money & suitable for the first 4 levels of general Spanish, everyday conversation. Would recommend!

I have just started to read this, but there is no point using the audio representations of the Spanish as they are unbelievably amateurish and of no value whatsoever. Why have this option if it is absolutely useless, and is this supposed to be what we pay for.
The same can be said for audio presentations of books I am reading in English, but at least this does not cause the confusion that the above Spanish would cause for someone who had no prior idea of what the language should sound like.
Otherwise, from a pure reading point of view, the books I have are excellent.

I'd like to see "Perfect Your LATIN AMERICAN Spanish"

I like this book a lot. Teach Yourself never fails to satisfy my language-learning needs. Most people learn languages to communicate orally so I feel that for books like this, it's always helpful to get the accompanying audio recordings, if there is any.
I know there is already the "Perfect Your Spanish" book from the same publisher, which is a level ahead of this one, but I also know that that book is more geared towards Continental (European) Spanish than Latin American. Unless you're headed to Spain or learning Spanish in Europe, I would carefully voice my opinion and say that most students of Spanish would want to learn Latin American Spanish rathern than European Spanish especially in the Americas, in this day and age. I'm sure the book points out the subtle (but also significant) differences in European vs. Latin American Spanish as this one does, but I'd like to see a dedicated version of this book for Latin American Spanish with Latin American Spanish recordings, ideally by Mexican Spanish speakers with clean (educated) and mainstream (general) accents and voices of central Mexico with the obvious fact in mind that Mexico has the largest number of speakers of Spanish in the world.

I own the kindle version. The great thing about this book is that it teaches a full dialogue. It doesn't just give you a bunch of phrases and vocabulary words. First, two people have a conversation in Spanish, and below, it translates and explains the point of using this phrase instead of that phrase. Also, it shows the difference between Spain Spanish and Latin America Spanish, and it shows polite as well as casual conversations.
