The perks for American servicemen and women.

The U.S. Armed Forces exists in a reality all its own. Members are fed, paid, clothed, housed, and protected in a way few other American citizens can claim. Soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines can shop at low-price grocery stores, protect their families with low-cost insurance, and earn a lifetime pension before they turn 40 years old. In fact, military life offers so many benefits and perks, it's hard for the average serviceman or woman to keep track of them. Finally, here is a guide that explains the benefits and how to obtain them. Inside, readers will find:

* Clear and precise explanations of active duty family benefits

* Details on veteran education and medical benefits

* A money-saving guide to discounts for both active duty personnel and Veterans

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have resource for all current and recently discharged Veterans 10 Aug 2008
By D. L. Henthorn - Published on
As a former U.S. Marine (Semper Fi), I was curious if I had any Veterans' benefits left after 31 years since my discharge. I was surprised to learn from this book that I did. Mr. Webber and Ms. Webber have done current and recently discharged Veterans a great service with their research and authorship of this book.

I highly recommend this book as a guide and assistant in understanding Veterans' benefits and to help get through the bureaucracy surrounding them.

Many thanks to all U.S. Servicemen and Servicewomen everywhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for those new to the Military and their spouses 22 Jan 2009
By J. Gardner - Published on
My husband is active in the USMC and I have found it very difficult to get information out of anybody! It didn't matter what it pertained too but it was like I was asking them to unseal a confidential envelope just for me!

This book has helped so much with basic info. such as insurance, websites and phone numbers. It even goes into details about vacation spots off of each particular Military base and the prices! It is a must have for anyone in the Military!

5.0 out of 5 stars Complete Idiot's Guide to Your Vet Benefits 8 Oct 2008
By J. Kosina - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is a great supplement to the 2008 Vet Benefits Guide put out by the VA. It is written so even an 8 year old can understand what a military vet's benefits are and aren't, depending on whether you are separating or retiring.

I guess I expected more. It was good, factual, but as I said, I expected more.
