W. Ben Hunt has captivated me. With intricate detailed drawings and scetches. His down home lingo about his life with Indian peoples. From the construction of teepee's, tomahawks, headresses, tomtom's, and everything in between. I am sure you will be as enthralled and excited as I was. I have learned and retained so much knowledge I have to recomend it to everyone interested.

How to make everything essentail in N.A. Indian culture

A true treasure from the past

If you want a politically correct and modern Native American craft book, this is not it. Though the copyright is 1973, this book has a 50's feel and sketches. However, it is a wealth of information with crafts ranging from leather & rawhide making to building your own dogsled. With a simple change of materials theses scout projects go from Hollywood to historically correct. I found this book to have the best set of instructions and illustrations for making an Eastern style roach headdress despite the instructions calling for manila fibers (I used turkey beards). I highly recommend this book to the Buckskinner or Native enthusiast.

This is an old book, been around for years, but it is still one of the best for authentic methods of making Native American items. This is replacing one I had years ago and learned so much from. A must for my library.
