A three CD box set comprising the complete recorded 1960 Dutch concerts by the Miles Davis Quintet, two in Amsterdam and one in Scheveningen. The intense Davis/Coltrane collaboration captured on a high quality recording are now considered treasures.
John Coltrane was a member of the group on the Spring tour but left shortly afterwards. When the band returned in October he was replaced by Sonny Stitt on alto sax. The core rhythm section remained the same-Wynton Kelly, piano; Paul Chambers, bass and Jimmy Cobb, drums.
Bonus tracks were recorded in Germany Coltrane playing tenor sax with the rest of the group without Miles Davis
