DVD Description
This digitally remastered two disc edition runs to over four hours, complete with all 15 songs performed by the band over the four appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show, including: "I Want To Hold Your Hand", "Help" and "Yesterday" and available to view with a brand new 5.1 surround soundtrack and carefully restored video. This special new package also includes an exclusive original Ed Sullivan Show ticket replica from The Beatles 1st appearance and approximately 13 minutes of additional footage. The added material, rare Beatles-related gems from other Sullivan shows, is placed at the end of each disc. Among them is a brief London interview with The Beatles by Sullivan which has not been seen since the day it originally aired on May 24th 1964; a 1966 black-and-white commercial for Beatles dolls introduced by Sullivan in colour; and the host reading a 1967 telegram from The Beatles congratulating him on the renaming of the studio to “The Ed Sullivan Theatre”.

Format:DVD
This 2-DVD set (with included facsimile ticket to the first show!) is a fantastic reminder of how good The Beatles really were. Four shows in their entirety, including hilarious adverts, really put their appearances in context, both historically and in comparison to other entertainers at the time. The excitement of their appearances is almost tangible to the modern viewer and gives a real flavour of the times.
There are several things to marvel at - the abilities of The Beatles as live musicians, the absurd amount of sponsorship and commercialism involved in US television (I nearly wet myself at 'Liptons'), the insanity of the audience, the surprising amount of British acts on the shows (Morcambe & Wise, Cilla Black etc), the constant emphasis by the masterful Ed Sullivan on how clean-living and respectable The Beatles are (hindsight being a wonderful thing), and, finally, the humour and togetherness of the Beatles themselves. This was a 'group' in every sense of the word.
The DVDs come with a few extras, which are brief but worthwhile, and you also have the option to just select The Beatles performances, if you so desire, but that would be missing the point. The only minor gripe is the lack of a booklet describing the background to the shows. This would have made the package stunning. However, there is no better way to spend 9 quid. Apart from food....and water...and warmth... well, you get the idea.
This DVD brings you as close as you can get today to the looming heights of Beatlemania. Cherish every second of it.

I've literally been a Beatles fan all of my life, love the 60's in general indeed! And these four classic Beatles shows just goes to show how great the Beatles music really was, the fab four at their finest in this great DVD package. You get all their great early performances with other acts inbetween, I wasn't too fussed about seeing the other performers really, I just bought it to watch the fab four in the comfort of me own home :) So if you're a huge 60's fan and love the Beatles music as much as I do, then this product is a must buy guys, it sincerly is, oh and the service delivery wise was top notch 10/10 all round then!

a must for all true beatles fans....really captures the excitment of the time...i would strongly recomend this dvd...very entertaining..shows you how tight a band they were

Splendid DVD
This DVD is brilliant. The only minus would be the transfer from the old tapes, which (surprisingly) doesn't equal the quality of "Elvis Presley - Ed Sullivan Shows".
