I bought this from a charity shop because as a guitar teacher myself I was interested to see how other people teach and to see if I could pick up ideas myself.
This is a fairly no frills but straight forward video presented by 2 blokes.
The lessons are a decent length and clear and conscise..though I'm not sure about the claim that you will make amazing progress in one day.
I suppose the proof would be to give it to a non guitarist and see how they get on.
There are certain areas that they don't touch on like strumming and timing that some people may have trouble with but as a starter to learning rock guitar it's not too bad.
My only complaint is that the guy who's presenting it, it sounds like his guitar is out of tune but that may just have been my ears.

Just having a re-listen and a re-think it's not as good as I thought it was.
The teacher runs through the points too quickly and the guitars are definitely out of tune.
They also teach you how to play 'run to you' by Bryan Adams which is a good riff and quite good to learn...but it is NOT what is on the record so if you try to play along then it will sound awful which I think is a bit lax of them.
There may be much better instructional videos than this

DVD arrived very quickly, thank you.
The lessons on the DVD are well organised providing a good progression for a beginner like me - I'm making good progress and I'm enjoying starting to play some of the well known 'classics' such as Purple Haze, House of the Risng Sun, James Bon Theme and Wild Thing.
The accompanying booklet is very helpful and provides TAB notation (which is relative straightforward and easier for me than reading musical scales), and separate notation of rhythm and lead guitars.
This is good fun!

I was wanting to learn the guitar but like most, I want to play famous riffs from day one. (impatient) This DVD teaches the basics, i.e. chords and scales etc. but also shows you how to play famous well known riffs which I think is good as when learning it is easy to get bored and give up, so being able to play a famous riff right from the start gives you the motivation to keep on learning

I haven't worked through it that far yet but what I have done sees good and I love the fact that's it's straight forward and easy. There are a few theory aspect missing but I am not really bothered about that at this stage. Would reccommend
