Most Helpful Customer Reviews

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful By Vanessa Smith on 5 July 2011
Format: Paperback
I remember eagerly waiting for this book to be published when I first heard it was in the pipeline. As a COPD'er I had already eagerly read almost any book I could get my hands on - 'COPD for Dummies', 'Breathe Out', 'The Management of COPD', COPD at your fingertips' and so on - desperate to learn all I could about my condition in that first year or two 'post diagnoses'. For me, this book is top of the list. The only book I have found about COPD written by a 'COPD'er, it is informative, comprehensive, written with both sensitivity and humour. Like almost all COPD books available, it is American, so includes an irrelevant (for us) chapter on the U.S. 'medicare' system - but even so, it is still worth every penny and I recommend it above all others. I bought this book as soon as it became available last year - since then I have bought it again .... and again ... and next week when I travel up country to meet another new 'COPD friend' for the first time, I will be taking yet another copy with me as my gift to her. Buy it - you won't regret it -
from Vanessa - a UK COPD patient, on oxygen, at the very severe stage but enjoying life to the full!

Absolutely full of advice and explanations, really helpful. Explained a lot more than even my doctor had. A must for COPD'ers
