A very well-constructed and informative introductory manual to weight-training. I was particularly impressed by the depth of background information behind every section. Unlike some modern (and historical) books of this type, the author supplies you with all the information you need. You then have to decide what approach to weight-training you want to take.
It is obvious from the style of writing that the author cares about his subject and is dedicated to passing that feeling on to his readers.
If you just want a book that tells you what to do, don't buy this one.
If you want a book that tells you how to choose why, when, what with and how many times you train - this is perfect.
The thinking person's weight-training manual. I took delivery of this book today and I have already speed-read it once. I look forward to beginning to work with it on my next training session, tomorrow morning.
