I have purchased many CD items from Amazon over the past few years but I am most unhappy with the CD with accompanies the Teach Yourself Gaelic course. The CD is of very poorly quality and frankly I think is more a hindrance to the course. I strongly DO NOT recommend anybody to purchase this CD. Clearly Teach Yourself need to urgently review the issue of this CD and the manner in which it has been recorded for them.

I was going to buy this, but then I compared the first chapter to "Teach Yourself Gaelic" which came out a number of years ago. The text is exactly the same in the first chapter. So if you have that book and CDs or cassettes, this appears to be the same. The Teach Yourself Gaelic book and CDs can often be found at the library if you prefer to give it a try before you buy. I find the book an excellent addition to the others that I have. Each book has its own strengths and weaknesses, so if you want to learn the language, you will probably find yourself buying more that one to get a different presentation.
