These are an example of Wilde at his best and are a wonderful mixture of irony and wit, beauty and nature. I had always been contemptious of classic fairy tales, diskliking their 'perfectness'. However, Wilde manages to combine the magical feeling and description of the classic tales with his own touch of satirical humour. These are a wonderful collection of short stories and ones you can read over and over. Buy them.

As a fan of Oscar Wilde I bought two books. One for each of my two grand-daughters.I love these fairy stories and would defy anyone who reads them to say different. The book itself is good quality and has a very attractive cover. It's as good as I had hoped it would be for the money.

I just absolutely love this book! "The Happy Prince" story made me cry. Fairytales at their best!! Excellent and heart-warming. You'll fall in love with it!
