Book Description

Waldo 'D.R.' Dobbs (the 'D.R.' stands for 'Diminished Responsibility') and Ernest Errol Quinch are a pair of alien students with an unhealthy appetite for destruction. With a lust for wealth, power, fast cars and huge weaponry, trouble is never far away... This complete collection also includes D.R. and Quinch's Agony Page, never before reprinted.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tactical thermo-nuclear weaponry is a guy's best friend..., 10 Jul 2006

One of Alan Moore's fairly early works, and among them only really bettered by The Ballad of Halo Jones and V for Vendetta. The story of two alien delinquents with a destruction addiction is just pure, ludicrous FUN, and absolutely hilarious. Do yourself a favour and buy this.

The only reason it doesn't get the full five stars is because some of the reproduction is really not as good as it could be, which is a shame (and there's really no excuse, given that earlier editions were fine) and it all ends far too soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Genius, 2 Jan 2003

Alan Moores funniest writing. More famous for 'From Hel', and 'Watchmen', DR & Quinch was one of Alan Moores earliest works (1983!), and remains his funniest writing. Aided by the sublime comic art of Alan Davids, this is a team-up that has rarely been matched.
In these pages you will find merciless skits of 50's be-bop, the Vietnam war, and the Hollywood dream, topped off with lashings of childish glee at comic book violence.
This is a book to be bought & re-read. I've owned the originals for almost two decades, and they still make me laugh out load. Enjoy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Messed up masterpiece, 10 Sep 2007
One of the great 2000ad strips ruined by a terrible reprint that loses all the detail of the original artwork. Avoid this and buy the earlier version.
