This book is exactly what the title says, it has absolutely everything you need in it to start performing better. i read it through and started doing some of the exercises and stretching techniques and i dropped nearlly half a second off my sprint times after a month! I was amazed, ive only had the book a few months now, so i dont know the long term results yet, but in the time ive had it the advice the book gives is excellent, i dont think there is a better book out there!

I would say this book is essential for anyone serious about competitive swimming and strength/technique improvement. It succintly covers all aspects of conditioning exercises, training programs, injury management and a little on hydration and nutrition. This is a great addition to the competitve swimmer's library and an invaluable reference.

I wanted a book to help my daughter with dry land training for swimming. She is on a 'competitive' team which does not swim very much and does not do stretching or other conditioning. While I do not have enough swimming expertise to help her with the swimming part, we have been attempting dry land training. This book helped us to develop a more complete workout which will specifically help her swimming. It also prompted us to add stretches to ensure that she will not have injuries later. I had also purchased 'The Fit Swimmer' which was fine for lap workouts but which would have been disappointing as it did not cover what we wanted. This book did, and it is all in one place.
