This appears to be the most accessible book available on learning to sight read for the chromatic harmonica. It is easy to follow, in carefully graded, simple steps and the information and exercises are of sufficient interest to motivate the complete novice.
My criticisms of the book are that one or two of the items seem to be misplaced i.e. they suddenly present difficulties which aren't sufficiently covered, although they could be regarded as a 'challenge' by some, more able students! The CD is good but some pieces from the book are omitted which should have been included e.g. those more difficult exercises referred to above. There are also a number of errors in the harmonica notation which are misleading. But do not let these minor reservations put you off buying it - if you are a raw beginner or, like myself, returning to the instrument after many years then this is an excellent starting point.
