When you see a book described on its cover as being 'complete,' your eyebrow automatically goes up. This is especially true when that adjective is describing a book on Shelby cars. There are so many examples, permutations and exceptions swirling around in the Cobra/Shelby universe that it s almost a slam-dunk to imagine that something was overlooked. This is clearly not the case with SAAC member Colin Comer s latest book. He tells the story and he gets it just right; he doesn t gloss over the important stuff and it s not a puff piece or an homage to Carroll Shelby. The glossy pages of this book have a very high quality feel to them. The reproduction of the photos are second to none and the color values are perfect. This book chronicles them all, from his earliest experiments throught the Chrysler years and back to Ford, concluding with the 2009 model year. Authro Colin Comer, a Shelby American automobile Club member, has written a book that is indeed complete...Virginian pilot, december, 2009...The second title to come our way The Complete Book of Shelby Automobiles - is of equal merit, though understandably relies predominantly on images (very good ones we might add) taken a long time ago. It s difficult to see where this title can score over the many other Cobra titles as it charts the same Shelby story from rags to riches, chicken farmer to automotive icon status which has been so well documented. However, this shouldn t detract from the fact that this book is a very enjoyable read. Different chapters include Shelby s latest automotive offerings - the Mustang GT500 from 2007-2009 - which of course is primarily a Ford product with a Shelby badge attached, and the limited production Ford GT. What we found of real interest was a feature on one of the original, restored Cobra Dragonsnake drag race models from the 60s. This is a book dedicated to Cobras, Mustangs and other super Snakes, looking at all of Carroll Shelby's automotive endevours. Though really aimed at petrol-heads with plenty of technical stats and in-depth analysis, it ahs some superb pictures of the cars, too, with informative captions about what is being shown. A very niche book that will make a great gift for anyone who really loves their acrs, especially Shelbys. --Digital Camera essentials, March, 2010

This book, unlike previous efforts on the topic, tells the entire Shelby story from the early 260 Cobras to today's monster Shelby GT500s. While most books have featured a narrow band of Shelby history illustrated with vintage black and white photos, this one covers the entire spectrum with a balanced combination of old black and white photos (many not seen before) and a plethora of crisp color photos taken in more recent times. Every model, both old and new, is deliciously illustrated.
This book is complete in comprehensively documenting not only the better known Shelby efforts but all of the side trips he made as well (Sunbeam Tiger, Viper, Toyota 2000 GT, Shelby Dodges, Series 1). The author's passion and expertise permeate the book. While authoritative, the text is easy to read due to an engaging prose style. This book is a must buy for both new and established collectors of the marque as well as those with a more general interest in one of the greatest automotive success stories in America.

Finally a book worthy of the man and his cars!

My first car was a 69 Shelby Mustang GT 350 convertible and I drove it everyday from 1974 until 1984 and have been a student of Shelby and his cars ever since. Presently as an owner of three vintage Shelby Mustangs and two new Shelby Supersnakes I continue to drive and enjoy Shelby's rolling works of art and have probably read every book ever written about him including the SAAC registry cover to cover. Colin Comer's Sequel to his best selling Million Dollar Muscle car book is simply in my view the first Shelby book worthy of the man and his cars. More importantly even if your not a car person Comer's writing style is witty and irreverent making it an easy and fascinating historical read for anyone curious about a certified American icon. Carroll Shelby will be remembered as one of the two or three most significant people in automotive history and this book artfully takes you along for the ride on one of the best adventures anyone ever turned into a life.

Great book on Shelby!

I just got my new book by Colin Comer, and, was truly amazed at the amount of new information, and especially, never before seen pictures that the author has been able to include. Lots of books have been written about Shelby cars, but, this has got them all beat by a wide margin.
