I bought my copy of Drive It!! from Santa Pod on the day of publication and it is a book which I fondly dip into to rekindle many memories of the early days of British Drag Racing. The book comprises of two main sections, a general overview of the development of the sport and a section of individual biographies of some of the principle characters involved during the 60's, 70's and early 80's. Unlike many americam books it does not confine itself to just top fuel or funny car but looks at some of the wilder home based machines. For anyone interested in how this one time, uniquely american sport developed into a major FIA backed championship then this is the best reference point you can have. For existing fans, if the names Priddle, Herridge, Stone, Crane,O'Connor etc mean anything to you then get a copy of this book. It may be out of print but it is well worth getting hold of a copy. This book has never been surpassed and it is about time someone wrote the follow up.Until then, this is the definitive early history.
