I'm very impressed with this course. I am an experienced Windows user, database administrator, with some administrative experience. I started learning Linux for a single reason to keep a job, as our IT team started integrating new Linux servers and I was overwhelmed by its command line experience. I tried few newer books on Linux and few older books on UNIX before I came across this set. It really teaches Linux (and UNIX) in the way it should be taught: through practical example. The entire course is about Linux (UNIX) command line. The training is made of relatively short lessons each covering its own subject. All lessons are logically connected. It is important to follow the recommendations, follow the lessons, not skipping subjects, and explore commands and not taking more than 2 lessons per day. If you follow the advice, as I did, you will become educated Linux user in a short time. This course takes work. It is not a movie that you watch through and become a "guru" overnight. It provides you with guidance and helps in keeping your Linux journey on a track. The exams are tailored in a way they contribute to better understanding the courseware. The included library contains reading for years to come. For every single subject you may need an additional information, the included books have it covered. The good thing is, that for an entire training I needed very little of additional book reading. It takes a lot of man pages reading though. The first exam is not hard at all. The second was harder to me. I went over networking part for few times before two last exams. My certificates arrived in hard envelope about week after I passed the exams. It doesn't say in a product description (but it does on a package label), this course comes with very competent training email support. If you have training related question, they assist you with your questions. I've been using this feature for few times, and every time I received help on a same day. On one occasion they even called me to explain one part!!! As I said, this training requires work, and if you're ready, it is the best way to start with Linux that I found. I recently logged into Solaris server and found that all that I learned with this course is true for Solaris as well. This training has my highest recommendation. For the price it is shockingly great.
