Format:Paperback
This is a fairly comprehensive self-teach course in ancient Greek. It has a heavy focus on grammar and syntax, and moves along at a fast pace with which it is hard to keep up. Each chapter covers a lot of ground and introduces many new words. Explanations are fairly compact and tend to use technical grammatical terms which may not be familiar. This is probably not a book for absolute beginners - I am using it to brush up my 45-year-old school Greek, and even though I can recall quite a lot of what I learnt then, I am finding the book heavy going. So it is pretty daunting. On the plus side, the book gets you reading short bits of real ancient Greek from the first chapters. Those who wish to learn - as opposed to revise or refresh their knowledge of - ancient Greek are likely to find other books a lot easier.

Needs editing for the missing accents to display correctly

At last this book is available as a Kindle book. The only problem I have with it is the coding used doesn't display the accented letters correctly. I do hope this will be corrected in an update soon. As well, I hope Gavin Betts' Complete Latin and Complete New Testament Greek are coming soon to Kindle books.
Now if only the Reading Greek & Reading Latin series would become available as Kindle books too. All would be "right" with the universe.
