Already bought one of these but wanted another to put in my "carrying bag"

As this foot moves without putting permanent weight on the fabric you will find you need to use two hands to move the fabric.

For small patterns I would use an embroidery ring.

For instance if you put the main colour of thread that matches your fabric underneath and a bobbin of contrast on the top of your sewing machine, You can embroider a name - you don't need to spell the name in reverse. You have right side of fabric downwards.

If you are adding names to children's clothes you can embroider the names on similar coloured fabric and sew on the garment later alternatively I have pulled ribbon or tape taught across a small embroidery ring and stitched names on it.

If you put your fabric matching thread underneath and use your contrast thread on the top you can embroider on the top of the fabric,

If the fancy thread is too thick for the eye of the needle you can put this on the spool underneath (such as lurex) and have plain thread in the needle.

You can embroider shapes etc but you cannot write words for example as they would come out in reverse. Unless you spell the word in backward formed letters or have the fabric wrong way up.

Hope this has given you some ideas. You will definitely need some fabric to practice on.

Sorry can't help hints for the darning, gave that up for nylon socks.

Have fun. Oh ! yes, there were some lovely ideas and instructions with the foot.

This foot fits easily onto my Janome sewing machine and is simple to use, the little spring goes up and down with the sewing machine needle and controls the tension of the fabric. I didn't even have to use an embroidery hoop to tension the quilt I was working on. So far I have only used it for small areas but it gives a very professional look and I am very pleased with the result.

The product came next day which was excellent, but I was more impressed with the information leaflet that came with the item that was provided by the seller which had some excellent tips on it, without them I wouldn't have got the best out of the item. Very, very pleased

I bought this to use with my Brother machine but it is suitable for any low-shank machine. It was supplied with an excellent 3 page printout of hints and tips for its use. On reflection, I think I will use this a lot and I suspect the plastic shank will perish at some point, so it might be better replaced with an alternative with a metal shank. The plastic toe is invaluable though, for seeing stitching clearly. For the extremely low price, this is a good-value product!

Really pleased, I'd been doing free motion embroidery the cheats way, with no foot at all, for years. But, this is an excellent product and makes it all the easier. Great service and delivery time too!

When I bought this item, there was no photo so I didn't know what I was getting. I was buying for a borrowed, unidentified singer machine, and it does exactly what I want. Great.

As in the review title, this foot is perfectly compatible with my Janome machine. To date, this has been a quality product at a lower price than the manufacturer's one. So, one happy customer! Hats off to C9 store for their informative video and accompanying leaflet about their sewing machine feet which they included in the delivery.
