I bought this laptop charger for my hp 510 notebook as a replacement for my old
one which has been broke for some time, taken in by the fact that this was an "original"
hp charger I ordered straight away as the manufacturer hp sell them for twice the price (about £40),
delivery time was good and i was very excited to give my laptop life!! It worked
well charged laptop turned on very happy but after using the adapter/charger a couple of days.
1. the connector part to my notebook from this "original" adapter broke after 5 days of use.
2. the adapter block part gets very warm after 10-15 minutes (I actually thought it might
catch fire if i left it on longer) anyway that said have gone out and bought an "original"
one from hp...... this was my first buying experience on amazon and I guess I was just unlucky to
get a poor quality product hope this helps everyone else...

Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the 3rd replacement charger I have bought for my daughter's laptop. The first 2 were not genuine HP and slightly cheaper BUT the plastic in the jack melted in both, presumably due to overheating as they didn't fit properly or are poorly made.

The power adapter that came with my laptop died on me just after a year of use and was just out of warranty.
I found this one offered on Amazon after realising that a replacement from the manufacturer would be more than double the cost!
Great service from the supplier (Computer Trading) as not many sellers actually publicise a contact telephone number. Anyway, called them up as I was not sure of the exact requirements and they pointed me in the right direction to this listing and hey presto.
The power adapter was delivered the next day (no extra cost) and has worked a treat (I even got a cloverleaf power cord with the adapter, something that usually costs extra).
I'm not sure if the actual unit was brand new but for the price (and the fact that it's been working for over a month) I'm not too bothered.
