This IR remote control sensor has achieved exactly what I bought it to do - hide wires and allow me to close a cabinet door. We have a built in cabinet in the living room that houses the tv and other attached devices. For years one door on the bottom section was always open as the SKY box and dvd player live in there. It wasn't a major deal - but just made the area around the TV look a little untidy. Thankfully, thanks to this IR sensor, the sky box and dvd player are now hidden from view and the door is closed.
I was had the device working in around 10 minutes - its simple really. The main receiver looks just like a mouse for a PC, You position that next to the TV and the 3 sensor wires are connected to the back of it, along with a power cable. I have a sensor in front of the IR sensor on the sky box and another on the DVD player. The main receiver automatically picks up the signal and controls the attached device. The sensors attached to the sky box etc very easily, just peel off the cover and they stick on. I drilled a hole in the wood to pass the sensor wores through, but they are thin enough to allow you to pass them through a door (glass or wood) and still close the door.
This product was half the price of a similar product which I was going to buy from Amazon - but I discovered this in the related products section. Saved 20 quid thanks to Amazons great data! Happy days.
