5.0 out of 5 stars First Class Book 22 Mar 2006
I bought this book and used it as my only study guide for the CompTIA Network + Exam. I read through all the chapters and remembered the test tips which gave me a good idea of what type of stuff you were expected to remember in the exam. I sat the Exam and passed first time. Best thing to do before you start your exam is write on black paper as much information you can remember about protocols, OSI Layers and what each layer does etc, and use this for reference while you do your exam, as you only have 90 mins to answer 85 Questions

4.0 out of 5 stars Review of the CompTIA Network+ Self-Study Guide (2nd Edition) 28 Feb 2009

This book is very good and gets right to the point, but the only problem is, this book is for the N10-003(2005 Edition) exam, which is now outdated. Soon after I bought this book, the N10-004(2009 Edition) objectives were released. So I can't really tell you if this book will help you pass the exam or not. But I can tell you that it still has a lot of good networking information that is still relevant. I decided to take the 2009 exam rather than the 2005 edition now. For the 2009 exam, I would buy the: Comptia Network+ Deluxe Study Guide: Exam N10-004 (Hardcover) by Sybex that was published on 2/24/09.
5.0 out of 5 stars This is all you need for the Network+ Test 5 Jan 2009

I was somewhat doubtful at first about this book. After all it has only 280 pages and not sure if I would need a 2nd book for the exam. But don't let the number of pages fool you. This book gets right to the point, This is the only book you will ever need for the Network+ test.

With only 280 pages, it's an easy read. I studied hard for less than a week. There are several things that you will have to memorize such as different type of cables, connectors, connection speeds, ports & applications. If you do your homework and know the material from cover to cover, you can easily pass the test.
