2.0 out of 5 stars hard to follow 5 Sep 2010

A really likeable main character, but i found it impossible to follow. The writing often gives you the feeling you've somehow skipped a paragraph or page, and I for one didn't have the political detail at my fingertips it assumed i did (offhand, can you trace the conflict between the serbs, greeks, macedonians, albanians, and yugoslavians, noting who's on which side and who did what to whom? That's just the 1st 2-parter) The first two-parter felt like a trilogy missing its conclusion, and the transition between the two parts of the next one was so disorientating i couldn't carry on. That said, keep at it, Mr Galt. You obviously know your politics and Alec has real potential to be a gem.
