What an excellent book! Let me explain how good it is and how you can apply it to communicating with your pets. Stay with me while I begin, it might at first seem as though I'm talking about something else, I am but it all fits.
I recently began taking classes with and reading books by and listening to the Cd's of the Brahma Kumaris for Raja Yoga meditation who advise to live in the present. The past is history the future is mystery and the present, is that, a gift. We should live in the present moment by moment and unwrap the present, examine and enjoy.
Armed with staying focused in the present I went out today with my 5 border collie dogs ranging in ages from 6 years to 4 months with the intention (after reading half of Joan Ranquet's book) of connecting with my dogs.
Now Timba has the annoying habit of not letting anyone have his frisbee or his ball. Its his and though he likes us to throw it, he will not let it go. Only wrestling with him will make him relinquish his hold. So I sent out an image of him dropping it at my feet and then standing back and wagging his tail. The result was practically instant. We did this over and over again, and as I commended him for it he did it without me having to think it first.
Next I decided to work on Jess. She is 7 months and an outrunner, prefering to circle the pack and stay out at a distance laying flat. In my mind I pictured her sitting next to me. She came, plonking herself at my side, her ear close to mine. I praised her then asked her if she had anything she wanted, within seconds an image of a meaty bone appeared in my mind, and also some wiggly white things that I eventually realised were worms. So I went out and bought bones and worm tablets.
Next after she went back out across the meadow again, I called her in by picturing her coming and placing her paw in my hand. I have never asked her to do this at any time before, however within moments she came and plonked her paw in my lap. I tried again and she got my hand. The next time after I asked her to do it just to clarify that she was actually hearing my thoughts she came and stood on me with both front paws and I felt as though she were laughing because I wanted verification that it wasn't just a fluke. She spent the next half hour sat beside me exchanging thoughts and that was pretty interesting I can tell you! Its amazing what a dog thinks about and how much they can read us like an open book.
Amber lay at my side, Jack in front where I could cuddle him and Meg...well Meg has a terrible habit of continual licking. We used to say of her, oh Meg has a short memory span she will lick you go away and return ten seconds later with the question, 'have I licked you yet today? No matter I'll do it anyway just in case.' Then she'll go away and return ten seconds later to lick again and keep this up all day. It is so annoying! So I imagined her laying alongside Timba and not coming to me, and that is what she did. The moment I suddenly thought 'Oh Meg isn't licking me' along she came just to give me a big wet one right across my face - yeuk! I must learn not to think that again!
This is ace...I am going to thoroughly enjoy communicating with my angels and my animals, that being dogs, cats, chickens, even my goldfish.
Together the Brahma Kumaris and Joan Ranquet have opened up my life allowed me to accept and trust beyond what appears to be just so, and realise that our thoughts really do count. What's more could it be that negative thinking is the cause of the hole in the ozone layer around our earth?
If that is so, then more books on positive thinking and books about what impact our thoughts have on life around us should be read and applied by every one.
After all why does it always rain on bank holidays? Because everyone is thinking that it will. The universe just obeys thinking that is what we wanted. As the next bank holiday (extended weekend) approaches let's all imagine brilliant sunshine!
Let's start to think about what we do want rather than focus on what we don't and then peace, good health, happiness and love we all want it - we can all have it - all we need to do is read and learn and trust and apply what we learn.
Thank goodness Amazon is such a great place to enable us to do all of that and the books are so cheap here. In fact I am going to order more of this book as gifts for my friends.
Love and Light,
