I was really dissapointed to read the previous reviews of what was a highly expected album for Wolverine. Still, I went ahead and purchased it anyway, expecting it not reach the high water mark of previous releases.
If there is one word of advice I would give to anyone listening to Wolverine for the first time, then it would have to be that you need to listen to the whole album a good 3 or 4 times before you begin to pass judgement. Wolverine are like a good book, you need to read it slowly, taking in all the detail and allowing the story to unfold in front of you.
Communication Lost does just that. It wasn't until the third listen that it began to a fall into place, the songs leaving me humming chorus lines throughout the day, it all began to make sense.
So now to the album. There are SO MANY FANTASTIC tracks on this album that I can't really point to one in particular, but I am really enjoying Your Favourite War, Poison Ivy and the Pulse...but as I said, only 3 complete listens so far so this may change.
The album is full of powerful riffs, melodic moments and musical changes of direction that only a talented and mature band like Wolverine could attempt. This album is solid all the way through and followers of Wolverine should go out and immediatley purchase this album. It's brilliant.....
