This is wonderful... 12 July 2001
By A Customer
I love liturgics and I am planning on being a priest in the Anglican church (either in the US or in England) so I have read the Episcopal BCP from cover to cover and now have read Common Worship. It is very beautiful, some of the new Communions are so poetic and are aimed for a modern congregation. The book is written in a print that is readable, with red and black print as well as different font faces to distinguish between different parts of the liturgy. CW has a separate section for Canticles, Collects and the lectionary. Plus, it give vestement colours for each weekly Mass. The disappointing part about this edition is that it lacks weddings, funeral services, ordinations and healing services which makes it necessary to puchase anothe volume. I was given it was a Confirmation gift and use it frequently!

Pleasing print, comfortable weight and content by a best-selling author. Published as an accompaniment to The Book of Common Prayer, not only is it a resource for church worship, but also for personal devotions. It contains the Calendar of the Christian year, a Psalter, Services, Collects, Canticles, Rules and a Lectionary.

It is altogether a lovely volume, it comes with my recommendation.

a thing of beauty 17 Jun 2010
This 2000 prayer book was a redesign by Derek Birdsall. It is exquisite in its presentation and the organisation of information. Typography at its best. He also designed this
