I rate this book very highly. It has been well researched and I found it an extremely interesting book, especially as Jack Common's friendship with Orwell is discussed. I feel that the author has brought Jack Common back to life in this book. The passion and dedication shown by Keith in his portrayal of history is stimulating and infectious.

5.0 out of 5 stars Haunting Memories of Old Newcastle 13 Nov 2011
By Aidan
Format:Paperback
I can recommend this book for anyone but particularly those who know North East England.
The descriptive element of working class tyneside where hope overcomes adversity warms the heart.

Mr Common, died too young, wrote too little, a lost genius.

Perhaps Tyneside's equivalent to John Kennedy Toole.

I loved it.
